Behar/Behukotai

  1. Behar – is about the holiness and sanctification of the land of Israel (Kedusha). The land must remain follow to show our faith that we depend on G-d for our existence and not on our efforts to cultivate the land. Because G-d makes it all happen. Not permitted to do any type of work on the 7th year called Shemita
  2. The main subject is the sanctification of the land: we sanctify a wife via marriage, Shabbat from week days, the Temple, the Kohanin, people, rosh chodesh, time, the 7th year and the 50th year or Yovel – because G-d is holy
  3. Sanctify means to separate and to make choices between holy and unholy, pure and defiled, good and evil.
  4. On the 50th (after 7 x 7=49) the land goes back to its original owners. The Yovel or Jubilee includes the totality of Israel and it includes everything; it is the year the “mother” the sefirah (and partzuf) Bina – which gives birth to everything
  5. Shemita – the farmers do not work the land that remains fallow. There are opinions on whether we should keep shemita today? The Chazon Ish says yes! Does it include all the land; even the Arab land? What are Arab farmers get unfair advantages and monopoly – should we observe the shemita laws even if it damages Jewish farmers? Some are more strict than others
  6. Man becomes holy on the 7th year; by letting the land rest it renews its strength and gives us superb produce that is tastier and not just pretty. We get 3 years of produce during the 6th year.
  7. If a goy works the land, are we allowed to eat the produce? Most believe NO. Others think even if the goy only touches the cases of produce it makes them permissible to eat.
  8. Zohar asks why is it important to have Tzaraat on the homes in Canaan, a human disease on the walls, for what purpose? Answer: In order to find the treasures the Canaanites hid and left for us; a lot of gold and silver was found
  9. G-d warns us if we do not observe Shemitah, there will be exile to force rest (shemita) on the land. Why is the land being the punished by becoming desolate? For each shemita we did not observe we go out to exile for 1 year. We went out to 70 years exile of Babel because we did observe shemitot. The land will rest one way or the other. Only when we came back to Israel, did the land started to give produce – until then it was left barren – preserved for us, the same way we left it
  10. The land senses the man’s sin that roams over it. If sages are hated, the land will spit its inhabitants. The entire world wants the Jewish state since the last 100 years because the land is holy and has great features. There is commandment to love the land if Israel, it’s special, it belongs to G-d, it is G-d’s chosen palace, it’s His home and it’s the land from which Adam was made
  11. On the Shemitah year we must respect the land, G-d is like a huge jewel, (Yahalom) same letters as Elohim. Israel only has salt and not much natural recourse. But it’s unique that it has the real diamond of holiness, G-d’s light that gives wisdom and other properties; only if we are holy, ... if we follow the laws of G-d. One Jew using his wisdom can be more productive than 1.4 billion Chinese and can produce more wealth than all of them together.
  12. Israel is the place to prepare the vessel to receive G-d’s wisdom, abundance and Olam Haba – if we do the mitzvot. Torah is the best vessel for that
  13. How are we supposed to exist during the Shemita year? Who will work? After all many Tanaaim worked hard and unpleasant menial works? Rabbi Shimon asked how a person is supposed to exist if he only learns all day. What if all of us did that? How are we going to pay the bills? The answer is that some will work and some will learn (Yissachar and Zevullun model).
  14. It’s important to work and learn and be honest, we were cursed to work, and it’s imperative. Many mitzvot are land oriented, cannot be done without being a farmer. He who supports himself in honest, he will be worthy or Olam Haba. But we must support those who can sit and learn and we will participate in their merit
  15. G-d asks: and if you shall ask what will we eat on the 7th year? G-d answers you will get 3 year of produce in the 6th year, if you do my commandments. This is the secret of our faith and it was done for hundreds of years.
  16. G-d preserved the land for us: no other people could conquer it and make it theirs. There is mitzvah to just walk the land like Abraham who walked the land back and forth. People feel the difference between being in Israel and abroad
  17. Behukotai – many punishments if we do not follow the mitzvot; but if we do, there will be peace. No peace for the land without G-d that means peace. No amount of land given to the Arabs will make peace with Israel, only following the mitzvot will bring peace with our neighbors. Arabs (Moslems) only have oil; we have spirituality and Godliness which we are about to reveal the world – they are afraid of us, 1.25 billion Moslems in the world are afraid of 6 million Jews
  18. AM (Aharon-Moshe; AsterMordechai) guards Israel: AM means “MOTHER” or IMA, which is the secret of redemption. Because of Shemita (7) observance we will be redeemed and in 18 prayer the 7 blessing is of redemption (Geulah)
  19. Yovel or 50th year, we all must be in Israel to celebrate; and if all of us came to Israel (14 million), it will be redemption (Geulah). Jews are Jews, no such thing as secular Jews (Chiloni); there are only Jews not yet informed or not yet observing. They have the soul to be great and to repent.
  20. The Lubbavitch Rebbe did not enter the land of Israel (like Reb Nachman came and left, the Babba Salli who came, left and came, Moses who did not enter. The stayed out to gather the last remnants like a good shepherd that does not go home until the entire flock is in safely. They want to gather the last one of us. Moses refuses to enter heaven until all Jews return to Israel; the tzaddikim stay out to guard the flock outside Israel
  21. During Shemita, G-d promises to feed us, to spare us of wars and all eliminate all weapons; not even fake one.
  22. But if you say it’s all by accident (chance), G-d will bring on us fear, panic, disease, robbers, thieves, wars, famine, unemployment, inflation, fear of loosing one’s job, fear of one’s spouse, epidemics, stocks that go down and wild beasts
  23. Wild beasts or Chaya Raah are today “car accidents” – more people die from that than from all the wars in Israel. Road rage and brutality are another form of fear as well as the panic from the Lebanon II war where 1 million left their homes , all as a result of not following the Mitzvot or commandments
  24. We have to test ourselves if we have Bitachon (faith) in the creator or are we afraid of our shadow. The Rabbi went in the middle of the night to the woods to test his faith and was very scared? This is a defective fear of G-d; he also entered Jericho alone during his Army service and was scared
  25. What is a “Chance” (or Keri)? Is there such a thing as by accident? When you find $100 3 days in a row, is that an accident? No! When matters repeat themselves consistently – it’s not a game of chance – it’s G-d behind everything. When the same events keep reoccurring, start to ask you questions???
  26. G-d gets angry with people who say “All By Chance” The body parts function because G-d commands them to do so as well as the stars and galaxies. Everything created and functions so that we make it to Olam Habah (next world). The secret of this parasha is to see G-d as guiding the world not by chance
  27. Some do not see any G-d’s intervention and cannot see his guidance. They are not connected and get no clues to assist them. But if you do the Mitzvot you will get clues and signs that will let you are being safe guarded.
  28. If you believe in G-d, he makes His presence know to you in a NATURAL way (measure for measure)
  29. The bet din kills an ox that gores because the ox gets the force of MAZLAH that drives it to act. People also act on intuition which spares people from disease, death and accidents; it Devine Providence (Hashgaha Pratit) from above. But if people think it’s only an accident, they get warnings to the contrary to show it’s not an accident. We must admit that G-d is behind everything
  30. Just pray to G-d for whatever you want or need, even the little things; continue to do it until you are answered. Pray to find the car keys, to heal the children, parnassa, and success with finding a job. Turn your desires to G-d; but the heart and mouth must be equal. It’s not testing G-d and it can strengthen the faith in G-d
  31. We have no worthy leaders in Israel today, that is why Olmert still in power – no worthy substitute (religious or not). There is going to be a revolution in Israel to bring G-d’s Kingdom to rule
  32. King Hordus’ grave was discovered this week his funeral was 2,100 years ago. This is very important to prove to the Moslems who deny our past existence in Israel. Last month they protested the finding beneath the Temple and this month they got a new finding. Flavious was a Jewish historian in the royal court and credible; he was smart to write everything about Hordus the King but his burial place that took 34 years to discover. Hordus was an Adomite and he was a master builder and was married the Hasmonite (Maccabbe) woman. May be Flavious anticipated that there will be grave robbers and kept the grave site concealed; which helps us today against the false arguments of Moslems.

EMOR

  1. This week hillullah (Yortzeit/Ascent) of Rabbi Meir Baal Haness (who laid down Mishnayot) and Rabbi Shimeon Bar Yochai (RaShBi – who wrote the Zohar) – both lived towards the end of the second temple and were the students of Rabbi Akiva. Both are very popular in our generation
  2. Emor (Tell to the Kohanim or priests – parasha) is about instructing the Kohanim to be Holy marrying a virgin and not defile themselves
  3. Tumah (spiritual contamination) comes in various levels – we are all Tamee Metim (contamination from corps); this is a spiritual contamination. Why worry about other lesser forms of Tumaa if we are already contaminated (from corps)?
  4. G-d says we must be holy like him and not add contamination. Until Sinai we ate non kosher and were contaminated; but after Sinai we are asked to be like G-d and our father, holy. Israel is not like the rest of the nations (Am Segula or special) because G-d chose us to serve him. Why did He commanded us to refrain from Contamination (Tumah)? No one can come next to G-d unless he is holy.
  5. The Jew is distinguished from the Goy by his eating habits – the Goy can eat anything because he is going to die (no Olam Habbah); the Jew goes to Olam Habbah, hence must watch what he eats. At the end of times, the entire world will know that Jews are G-d’s (King’s) children.
  6. At Sinai we learned to eat properly and eat the right things, kashrut, wash our hands, personal hygiene, bless the food we eat, refrain from eating non kosher animals: because we have continuity beyond this world. Those who destined death need not worry about their diet; they may eat all they want including bad food (they are dying anyway – no continuity). But Jews have the after life
  7. Death is like moving from one room to another room. We have eternal soul and infinite life in the world to come. One day G-d will cleanse us of the contamination; until then. Torah cleanses us and makes us holy. G-d will wash us with Tal (dew from heaven) and remove the Tumah from us.
  8. All Israel are called Kohanim because Kohanim have special gene and special soul to heal and bless the Leopard (Metzorah). His blessings are valuable and count. One who marries of daughter of a Kohen must respect her or else be will be punished. The Kohen intercedes with G-d on our behalf therefore he must be Holy in order to come in front of G-d. Must have good wife, untouched virgin.
  9. The entire blessings come because of the wife; she is the vessel to hold the blessings. If the vessel (wife) is blemished, the affluence has no place to go. A good wife is a blessing. She must be pretty, modest and loyal and untouched by others. A Kohen cannot marry a divorcee. Must wash his hands and legs before coming to the temple and must be sparkling clean, change his cloths often and have proper mediations when asking blessings from G-d for Israel.
  10. Never belittle hand washing before meals, it helps being wealthy, pour lots of water and clean your body to remain healthy. Cleanliness is paramount to holiness, always dress nice and clean.
  11. At night death is in control, sleep makes us contaminated because our soul leaves us and we are like dead corps. After waking up, we must clean our hands, mouth and face and go to bathroom (even after one hour of sleep) – to remove contamination from being in a state of sleep (death). Repeat all the morning blessings, put on Tefillin and Tzzissit to remove contamination (Tumah). Don’t just wake up to check your stocks – check you spiritual cleanliness and holiness.
  12. Kohen has the power to bless; also the Rabbi, teachers and sages of the generation are like Kohanim. Anyone who learns Torah is like a Kohen (a Goy who observes 7 Noachite laws is like Kohen Gadol). There are 3 crowns: Torah, Wealth, and Kingship. The crown of Torah is the highest of them all. The key is to learn Torah because Torah cleanses us from contamination. Torah is G-d’s name, and like Mikvah cleanses us and gives us status of Kohen Gadol.
  13. To get pregnant a woman must stay away from cemeteries. Women have a propensity for Tumah and that’s why women like to clean themselves more often. The must keep themselves clean at all times.
  14. Tumah can cause a person to go insane; death causes the evil (klipot) to attach themselves to unclean people and places. Do not touch anything in the morning until you wash your hands and face; the finger nails must be especially clean. If a person who is not observant still washes his hands, he will eventually do Teshuvah. Do not defile yourselves with foul language, it adds contamination
  15. Rabbi Meir Baal Haness – lived 50 years before the destruction of the 2nd temple. The Romans sent Neron Cesar to destroy Jerusalem, but he was afraid of G-d, run from the Army and became Jewish, his grandson was Rabbi Meir. Romans worshiped idols, but start to love us and millions of them attached themselves to us by accepting Christianity.
  16. Rabbi Meir was great in Torah, loved Torah more than anyone, same level as Rabbi Shimon – their teacher was Rabbi Akiva. Rabbi Meir sat next to Rabbi Akiva while Rabbi Shimon sat in the back; Rabbi Akiva did that in order to bring closer Rabbi Meir to him and Judaism. Meir means light – the light of Torah.
  17. Lavan was dishonest, gave hard time to Yaakov who went to him build spiritual words. Rabbi Meir was reincarnation of Yaakov
  18. Rabbi Akiva was also son of converts. A convert (ger) is one who has Jewish soul which is prerequisite to becoming a Jew. One can reincarnate into a goy or even stone on the wall. The Ben Ish Hai prayed 7 years to free a soul from a wall. Murderer reincarnate into a leave of trees, they have tremendous suffering as leaves and can reincarnate into animals and Gentiles. A Jew reincarnating into a Gentile is a big suffering; when a Jewish soul reincarnate into a Goy and sees Jews do Commandments (mitzvot), but they can’t because of being Goy, they go thru a lot of suffering.
  19. This is the secret of Yaakov going to Lavan HaArami to rectify him. The letters of the name Meir are the same as the letters Arami; Rabbi Meir came to rectify Lavan who reincarnated 3 times (Lavan, Bilam, Naval).
  20. At The resurrection of the dead which body from the reincarnation will rise? If there were 3 reincarnations, all of them will rise (Ari). Our souls are split among many sparks that come here to be rectified in various reincarnations. Only those who believe in the resurrection of the death will rise up. The parts of the soul that get rectified do not come back and only the parts of the soul that require rectification reincarnate back. Sometimes souls come to assist or punish someone
  21. With the Atom Bomb, we can imagine the end of the world. Our leaders reflect our image of who we are. The leader reflects the crowd they rule over. They must pray for our welfare. They are the mirror image of who we are. They are our messengers; they reflect who we are. Lawyers are the most dishonest; they know how to manipulate us with words. People get the leaders they deserve
  22. Rabbi Yehudah Hanassi saw that torah will be forgotten, therefore he put it in witting. Sometimes we have to transgress the torah to preserve it – this is how Rebi preserved the Torah. In the past Torah was learned orally by Tradition. (oral Torah). 60 times 60 volumes – huge. Rabbi Meir was a scribe and chosen by Bebi to write the Mishnah from memory. Wrote Megilat Esther from memory. The tanaim then remembered everything by heart. Rabbi Meir arranged the 6 volumes of mishnah.
  23. At the yortzeit day of a Tzaddik, G-d invites the Tzaddick to Gan Eden and fulfills his requests at the presence of other Tzaddikim. This is why we celebrate the Hillulah (death anniversary) of a Tzaddick – it's the time they get blessings from G-d to give us. And in the Tzaddick’s merit those who mention his name (and light a candle), get a blessing from G-d too. This is why we try to connect to tzaddikim. This explains going to his grave on the date of his yortzeit.
  24. Rabbi Meir’s wife Bruriah was big Tzaddeket. On Shabbat their 3 kids died a wall fell on them; she said nothing until after havdalah. He asked about them and she did not tell him for the entire Shabbat and gave him the parable of giving back to the owner a deposited security (they gave back the children to G-d). He understood and said, “G-d giveth and G-d taketh away”. He suffered tremendously, his wife died too.
  25. He used to visit his friend overseas every year, but one time went to see him and his wife did tell him his friend died (der husband). She proceeded to serve him wine and took him to bed and slept with him. At the morning he understood what happen and cried outside and tore his hair and shouted in public about his unintentional sin. The Rabbi of the community invited him to explain and he told him what happen. The Rabbi told him his rectification is to go to the forest, tie himself up to a tree and be eaten by a lion – he did but the Lion did not eat him. He told the Rabbi and he was advised to do it again and nothing happen (lion smells him and go). On the 3rd time the lion broke his rib – now the Rabbi said you are forgiven. Rabbi Meir sought punishment even for an inadvertent transgression
  26. The Romans took his sister in law to the whorehouse. He took money and bribed the guard to get in, he camouflaged himself and asked her to sleep with him but she refused and he saw that she is pure and he prayed to G-d to save her. He paid the soldier money but the soldier said he is afraid to be killed if the governor finds out. Rabbi Meir told the soldier put in me in a cage with your hungry large dog; but when the dog approached Rabbi Meir he just said “Elaha DeRabbi Meir Aneni” and the dog di not harm him. The soldier did the same and was not harmed by the dog. He agreed to release the girl. The soldiers found out and wanted to hang Rabbi Meir but he said the words “Elaha DeRabbi Meir Aneni” and the rope snapped; it happens 3 times. The Roman soldiers let him go. The king was inform and they did it again in front of the king who wanted to who gave him those words. The soldiers spread Rabbi Meir’s poster in the market and finally found him but before they could touch him he would turn to a blond being hugged by Elijah and was saved.
  27. One woman who came to pray at his gravesite saw his grave open and saw him buried upright; he spoke to her and she asked him why do you stand? He told her I will be the first to resurrect and I want to be ready when the time comes.
  28. Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai – born to a couple who could not bear children, the husband wanted to divorce his wife but she cried all night and her husband had a dream seeing an angel in an orchard watering a dry tree that miraculously bore fruits. His wife went to Rabbi Akiva who solved the dream: A barren woman is like a dry tree but with tears a women can become pregnant. Therefore, Rabbi Akiva added: your tears watered the barren (dry) tree and you will get a baby. As it was the couple named the new baby Rabbi Shimeon Bar Yochai (RASHBI) who becomes a huge light that descended on the world that produced the Zohar that cleanses the soul and will bring the redemption to Am Israel. The Zohar contains huge secrets of the Torah. And Rashbi can single handedly redeem the world.
  29. Three Rabbis spoke politics: Rashbi said the Romans are for themselves only (Gina), Rabbi Yossi said nothing (exiled), Rabbi Yehuda said nice things (became president) – Rashbi who did not compliment the Romans was ordered to be killed. His wife brought food to Shull where he and his son Elazzar were hiding, but being afraid that the Romans will force her to talk - they escaped to Pekiin and hid in a cave where a cherubs tree and a water stream appeared miraculously. The lived there for 12 years, naked in a ditch of sand to their throats.
  30. After 12 years, Elijah the prophet told him the Roman Emperor died and they can come out. They saw people working and not learning Torah and just gazed at them and turned them into a pile of bones. They were sent back to the cave for one more year. When they got out his son was killing people but Rashbi revived them. They saw a man with haddasim (myrtle) and understood that people were working in this world (and kept Shabbat) to earn the next world to come.
  31. His father in law (R Pinchas Ben Yair) saw him all bruised and cried – Rashbi told him because I and like this – I achieved all this greatness (of producing the Zohar). Rashbi was able to tell everyone where the dead is buried so the priest could find their way and remain pure.
  32. We love Rashbi and we are close to him tied to him. Only the Tzaddiking like Rashbi can save our world and pray for us to meet our needs.

ענייני השעור: לשון הרע, ענייני הצרעת, סוד ה-"נ",טהרה וקדושה, עריות, שמירת העיניים,

Acharei Mot-Kedoshim

  1. Crying for Nadav and Avihu an atonement for one’s sins
  2. Our purpose to reveal the presence of G-d by our good deeds
  3. Tzaraat – infects a person who spits out evil from his mouth that only the Kohen cure, a spiritual disease discovered by Tzaraat that starts on the skin, spreads to cloths and finally to the walls of the house – has to destroy the house, the person must camp outside the community
  4. Lashon harah (Evil tongue) causes a person to loose his house of dwelling and throw out all the belongings; King Ahab the wicked did not loose soldiers in battle because no one spoke Lashon Harah. No Lashon Harah = Life
  5. Nothing to be gained from Lashon Harah like the snake that only eats dirt and it’s deadly to both the speaker and the listener. Today, LASHON HARAH is a “respected” profession: in all media of communications
  6. Do not tell stories and repeat what happen here and there about others
  7. The first SIN ever – Lashon Harah, Metzorah is a person seeking to find evil speech. One must have good heart to control the eye that sees
  8. LASHON HARAH is prosecuting others and not giving them a chance to rectify sin
  9. The Kohen is a pipe to bring the blessing (like Israel to the Nations), just with his looking he would heal the Tzaraat, draw down the mercy on people helping them with peace, health, ... unlike the casual person who adds prosecution to others with LASHON HARAH
  10. Tzaraat is the repealing of bounty from the creator, when the person merits affluence he is tested with LASHON HARAH; and if he talks LASHON HARAH he looses repeals the blessing. Evil wife is like Tzaraat to the husband and vv
  11. The new age Tzaraat – people earn more than what they need and the rest they invest and continue to worry what will happen with the portfolio and be in Tzaar (Tzaraat) or continuous pain from worry
  12. We must share our G-d’s endowments: a Rabbi must teach, a Rich man to give Tzedaka, a Doctor to heal, a good voice to take the Amud or be punished – there has to be movement of affluence (Zuzzim – movement)
  13. The Metzorah is healed by slaughtering one bird and make a mixture of blood, water and Cedar tree to dip another bird in and set it free
  14. G-d is forever watching over us; and if we saw all the miracles He does for us we would lose our mind. The Baal Shem Tov observed a storm in forest was to spare a worm from a bird causing the worm to escape being eaten prematurely
  15. The Hebrew “Nun” is 50 indicating purity and qualification for the revelation of G-d and His Torah after 49 days or 7 (clean) weeks
  16. Holy or Kadosh – means to separate ourselves from the Mundane or Chol, not to be public places for too long; be in the privacy of our homes and families, to separate from the Goyim, to cleanse ourselves in Mikvah
  17. Secludness and learning brings Holiness, women’s protection from promiscuity is being at home with husband or family. The Sages were able to overcome idol worshiping and incest but the price is Arayot or sexually rampant in our daily life like lashon Harah or bad mouthing in all the various forms of media. Evil inclination must be to give freedom of choice and give us a desire for wants that sustains the world
  18. Without evil and self interest there will no incentive to do anything; but we must control the desires and for the purpose of worshiping HaShem to get reward in the next worlds to come
  19. Omer time is dangerous and we must refrain from anger, jealousy, hate and the rest of the bad character. The traits we fix during the Omer each week rectify ourselves for the entire year. Controlling our bad traits during the Omer will cause us to control them the entire year. Only when we cleanse ourselves from bad character do we get the light of Torah

  1. TAZRIAH – Each Era is destroyed and replaced by a new one. New invention make obsolete old one’s. Those who do not adapt, perish! In the final redemption only very few will survive – only those who rectified themselves will go on to the new era (in Egypt not everyone got out and Egyptian hegemony destroyed giving rise to Israel – to a new birth. This is why Tazriah comes right after Shemini
  2. The Iranian are spending billions to amass weapons of mass destruction, part of Ishmael who wants to destroy the world in the name of Allah; in opposite of Esau (Christianity) who pursue progress and desire to build a better world – they passed the period of wars (I and II) and now they are looking toward the redemption of mankind, albeit via science and technology. Esau understand that he cannot destroy the Jews – Ishmael still have this fantasy and he is more dangerous; because the Moslems have merits, circumcision, modesty, prayer to G-d, Charity (Chessed) – it makes him credible and gives him power. He is all over the world and getting bigger and stronger in every country. Perhaps he is trying to sacrifice himself now to counter Isaac’s sacrifice. This is our challenge: our faith against there faith.
  3. Tazriah, giving birth, is connected to Shmini (and Metzorah, Achare Mot, Kedoshim ...) in a marvelous way. It begins with a woman is pregnant with a male (why not a female?) This to teach us if a women prays the first 40 days of her pregnancy she can change the sex of the fetus. G-d gives special dispensation to a woman that cries hard to G-d because women are sensitive – G-d hears them if they pray from the heart. The mouth of the woman is very powerful. With her prayers a woman can get a husband, children and family; because she is sensitive, and she cries, her tears draw Chessed (loving kindness) from above. The power from G-d come from prayer not brains. Prayer is above brains. The weapon of Mashiach is his prayer.
  4. Obstacles are melting in front of prayers; we must pray to G-d with might, zeal, power and energy. And we must be all consumed with fire in our prayers to burn the negative forces (klipot) to get the blessings. G-d dislikes it when we become indifferent, too comfy, too fat, too well off to acknowledge Him.
  5. METZOEAH – Leprosy, perhaps the biggest secret in the torah. This subject comes Tzaraat (leprosy) comes right after Tazriah (birth) to teach us that success and passing of era reveals the negative forces. If a person who achieved success is now being bad mouthed, it means it’s time for a downfall. Israel suffered in Egypt for 210 years and right after their redemption: problems: no water (Mara) and Amalek, thirst, complains and downfall that came right after the high success of leaving Egypt and slavery
  6. You must remember this how G-d is guiding His creation: failure comes after success – problems start after the good times (bride and groom fight after the wedding). Moses gets Tzaraat after the encounter with the burning bush – G-d was teaching him the big secret: Failure follows success because of bad mouthing
  7. When people bad mouth a person, it’s a sign of success that was attained and is about to vanish – the person has just passed a high mark of success and now the person is being tested and in probation. If you are successful, be sure you do not fall pray to lashon harah (bad mouthing) – if you do, the success is over.
  8. This is the message of Tzaraat – problems come after success = Tzar ET = auspicious time. Problems after the promotion, the new house, the wedding – after the previous success; a new round is coming down: new birth. Moses’ hand gets leprosy to indicate a new period about to begin. After Passover (success) we get Omer (dangerous times) 24,000 students of Rabbi Akivah died

  1. Omer days are auspicious; we count the Omer, learn Ethics of The Fathers to go back to the most fundamental roots of Torah – Mussar (ethical conduct)
  2. SHEMINI – Kohnim stay 7 days in the Mishkan to make scarifies that cleanse the Israelites as preparation for the 8th day, where G-d Shechina will be revealed
  3. Why did Nadav and Avihu (NA) die? – they were supposed to bring scent offering to be consumed with fire coming from above. Instead, they brought their own (strange) fire; and the fire that came down from heaven burned them thru their noses. Moses exclaims G-d is sanctified by those close to Him; punishing the righteous for the atonement of all Israel.
  4. NA wanted to reveal the “Path” of the Shechina as it was coming down. Moshe and Aharon were supposed to die and NA died in their stead. Sages says NA made 7 sins, but also drunk and ate during the revelation in Mt. Sinai
  5. Rabbenu Abu Chatzera asks? Why did they NA die? Why the 4 who went into the PARDES to reveal the Shechina, got hurt except Rabbi Akivah? Why In the Haftarah, Uzzah is killed for touching the dropped Arch, he meant well?
  6. The answer is hidden in King Solomon’s puzzle of not knowing the Path of an eagle, the Path of a ship, the Path of a snake and the Path of a man into a maiden girl? This is the key to understand why NA burned! None leave any track! G-d hid their “Path” from King Solomon – why? (Machssof Lavan). This is to tell us that mystery of the universe (the “Path”) and the Shechina is hidden from us
  7. NA wanted to reveal “Path” of the Shechina by bringing their own fire to see how the Shechina comes down. The Ketortet smoke always goes up straight and the YKVK revealed. They wanted to discover how physical transforms into the spiritual and v.v. After their death, they were reincarnated in Pinchas, Samson and Elijah the Prophet – the only one that can come and go freely from physical to spiritual back and forth. He knew the “Path” he a passport to the spiritual worlds
  8. This hidden “Path(s)” to the higher spiritual worlds is heavily guarded by angles that will punish and harm the trespasser who are not pure and complete NA were not complete – they were not married, and pure – they were drunk (among other things). One must be ready and worthy to ascend the “Path”; and must not have any defects or blemishes so as not to be harmed like those mentioned in 5. above
  9. the Mishkan is G-d home or place among us where a union takes place between G-d and His Shechina. NA were impatient to cause that union (on the anniversary day when Adam and Eve were impatient) in order to allow the affluence to come down. But NA were not complete and pure (7 sins) – they were not married (a defect – a Kohen must be married to serve) and hence not allowed to cause the union of YKVK and ADNI and certainly not reveal the “Path”.
  10. Three were NOT named at creation (ANY) Adam, Nachash (snake) and YKVK (G-d). This is the PATH that is hidden (wondrous to King Solomon). The union and discovery of the path only to the right person like Elijah and Mashiah
